We are Martin & Nacho, two friends who met in Ireland in 2006. Soon after traveling and working around we came back to Uruguay believing that the top way to continue with our trip, getting to meet individuals from all around the globe and new life stories would be by having our own hostel. Thats why we opened Pocitos Hostel in December 2008.

The hostel is only a bus-ride down the primary road to the centre of town and also the the bus terminal, which isnt expensive. We didnt see the streets of pocitos with shops and nightlife that were supposed to be nearby. Its a safe region and the hostel is clean and has a nice lounge region inside and outside to hang out in.

Staff were all lovely dealt with Joaquin the one night we stayed and he really went out of his way to help us get a cab to the bus terminal to make sure we got our bus on time. Wish we could&'ve stayed longer. Small hostel but really friendly vibe, superb part of Montevideo and marketplace close by.

First of all, thanks for all of the staff that they were so helpful and friendly and they did the best like our friends. The location is ok, you can take a bus to go somewhere easily as nicely as the city is not so huge to explore on foot also. Clean, warm water 24 hours. In case you like 15 minute walking distance, you can locate clubs.

This was one of the best hostels that I have ever stayed at! Nacho and his pals were great! he made me really feel at home the minute that I walked inside the door. Sipping mate and swapping stories together by the fireplace were the highlights. I ended up staying an extra day and plan to return. Superb Hostel!
