Love the staff, ideal location, it&'s quiet, but there&'s a bigger sister hostel downstairs to go and meet far more individuals or have a bigger meal. This was where I was staying when I found a flat in Kyiv, but I often came back to take a look at the employees and when I cam back from Georgia. It&'s a second home for a lot of people.

I&'ve stayed in a number of hostels in Kiev, and The Chillout hostel (and its sister hostel, the Why Not hostel) are by far my favorites. The Chillout hostel is a small, centrally located, clean, and quiet hostel, so if you desire to read, chat with friends, or sleep, it&'s the ideal location to stay. Yet if you want a more lively atmosphere, it&'s straightforward to pop next door and use the facilities of the Why Not hostel, its much larger sister hostel, which has a huge common room and cinema room. Jason, the Welsh manager of each hostels, is knowledgeable about much that&'s going on in Ukraine (and the rest of the planet for that matter), and he hardly ever sleeps, so you can discuss either over a pint within the middle of the night or over coffee within the morning anything from ancient history to what to do with your day. But Jason isn&'t the only cool hostel employee. No matter whether you prefer to chat about how movies differ from real life with Alina or discuss why love makes the planet go round with the madly-in-love married couple of Timur and Arina, you&'re certain to have an enjoyable time here.

Outstanding hospitality. The property owner took us to a party in another hostel. Ordered us a cab and left her own mobile for the whole night so that the cab could call back :)
