We actually booked at Toni&'s Guest House but because it looked like a backpackers&' hostel we asked to be taken closer to the town of Nuku&'alofa. There was a massive funeral happening that night and a few other places were booked out so Toni took us to his beach home which was lovely and met our expectations and more. He then took us back into Nuku&'alofa the next morning and we found somewhere right in Nuku&'alofa as that was where we wanted to stay.

It&'s definitely the very best value accommodation that you can discover on the island so I definitely suggest you to stay at Toni&'s in case you go to Tonga. It&'s cleaner than any other place. The transportation to and from the guesthouse is properly organized. Warm and friendly staff.

A special place inside the middle of Tongan countryside, which makes the place quite authentic. Nice staff, basic but good kitchen facilities, basic but nice lounge etc. And Toni&'s tour was just awesome! You just have to participate in it! It&'s an outstanding way to see the Tongatapu island.

The rooms were adequate and brightly painted. It was nice to have them as little cabins rather then all joined together. The employees (other than Toni) were helpful, efficient and kind. The only caveat to this is that they all seem so daunted by him that they are unable to be as kind and welcoming to visitors as they would like.

The only thing I liked about this property was the inexpensive and also the friendly shuttle driver Peter. otherwise there was absolutely nothing else to like.

Very little else on Tongatapu caters for the budget/backpacker traveler so Toni&'s Guesthouse has a monopoly on individuals trying to save money: it is the cheapest available, but the hidden costs do add up and also the location is awful. The employees were helpful but obviously trying to sell their services too. It was a very good kava night, and that was extremely affordable and informative culturally.
