It is an excellent position being right close to the BTS Skytrain. The staff, everyone I spoke with during my stay were very helpful and polite. The room was neat and clean.

We arrived late during the night time in bangkok and needed a spot to crash at ahead of traveling on to Koh Chang. We had some communication problem with the oense that resulted in him driving to the airport to pick is up even though we took a cab. Totally our fault but to our suprise he didn&'t desire to charge us for our error. He was really nice to we paid him some extra for the trouble anyway. The Merlin Lodge is ideal if you&'re on your way through Bangkok simply because it&'s close to ekkamai. It&'s also very near to the skytrain.

The owner, an Indian man (I hope Indian is correct! ) was extremely helpful, pleased to talk, give advice and really welcoming in general. Although my single room was a touch on the small side it was really well equipped with an en suite bathroom, AC, storage and a TV. The region exactly where visitors could congregate was nice and big, open and light. There were travel books around if visitors wanted to read them. All of this was excellent and that&'s despite the fact that it was only a temporary setup, they are planning to start renovating the rest of the building to create the communal areas much much better, bar + cafe etc. It should be great!

The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The owner is an endless fount of information and is always willing to help or offer advice. He also supplied me with some maps of the city which were extremely helpful. There is certainly an airport pickup service at an additional cost which was extremely convenient. The place is right close to a busstop and a skytrain station (which launched during my stay). There is certainly also a shop on the premises where you can buy drinks and snacks and such and they also offer a laundry service at an additional cost. There is certainly also a rooftop rooftop where you can smoke which is extremely convenient as most places in Thailand don&'t have smoking areas and you have to smoke outside on the sidewalk. I really enjoyed my stay.

The owners are really nice and helpful. The rooms are large and clean. We had a great time at the Merlin Lodge.
