Amazing employees and facilities. Along with the level of cleanness was really close to a hotel. The fact that it has a popular bar of its own and several choices of entertainment made out stay faboulous even in bad weather!

Balmer&'s Herberge, despite being a hostel, gave us an experience of a nice wooden cottage. We stayed in the Twin Room which was cosy and nice. The employees at the reception was really warm and friendly and explained all activities in and around Interlaken. They even have a tie-up with Outdoor, making it easy to register for all winter sports. Their breakfast was decent as well. All in all, we would go back there and suggest the spot to all budget travellers.

The setting was totally worth it - lot of youth crowd, the underground night club, all the chatting at nights - this is what you call a youth hostel.

Balmers has been my favorite hostel I have ever stayed at--mainly due to the social setting and friendly, helpful staff. Balmers has a extremely social atmosphere. It has an outdoor grill that is certainly great and reasonably priced for dinner, and it also has a lively bar with good drink specials. So a lot of travelers hang out at the grill and bar at night allowing an opportunity to mingle with fellow guests. Balmers also hosts parties for America&'s Independence Day, Canada Day, etc. which draw huge crowds. The staff was exceptional. They helped us plan our outdoor activities and gave us tips on other points to do in the area. They are extremely informative! The rooms and bath rooms were clean. They were nothing special--just typical hostel accomodations. The property has a laundry room, no cost WiFi, a kitchen, and a TV room. I felt extremely secure at this hostel. There was 24 hour reception, and a night safety guard.
