I liked that we had our own room for ourselves simply because we had a marathon this weekend. And we liked that they had the breakfast early even though it wasnt supposed to begin until 8am and we were downstairs at 715am.

Helpful staff, excellent breakfast, clean. We had a twin en-suite and it was really nice. Would recommend to anyone.

I can&'t say enough very good things about this hostel. It was clean, outstanding for socializing with rooftop terrace bar and a beer machine even inside the lobby (as properly as a water machine - so handy for the ultra hot days), the employees was extremely helpful, Wi-Fi worked 98% of the time, the employees were also really friendly and welcoming, it&'s definitely a party kind of hostel, but with that being said everyone was really respectful of people that were there going to bed earlier inside the night. There were quite a few people at the hostel there temporarily whilst looking for apartments as they were moving there. But they had no complaints about people being out late and partying when I spoke with them. Easy 10 minute walk from Atocha bus/train station. So the 5 euro express bus from the airport to atocha was perfect and hassle no cost from taking the metro since one of the lines was suspended anyway. (The bus runs like each 10 minutes). Again - the very best component of this hostel is all the places to hang out in common areas and also the rooftop to social and meet people to go out with. Also - the luggage lockers were the very best of any hostel I&'ve been to. They were massive enough for a really large duffle bag or massive carry on luggage, plus room for more. It made me feel really at ease about leaving stuff in my room. I would definitely go to back to this hostel again if I&'m in Madrid inside the future. Hands down.

Very safe hostel, the door to the rooms is locked at the same time as your own room and you have large locker inside the room. There is certainly a luggage room which was handy on our last day. Breakfast was really great for a hostel! Usually you only get toast with butter and jam; but they also had nutella and 3 types of cereal, coffee, tea, orange juice, hot chocolate. Good way to start your day!

Everything - extremely artsy on the inside, clean nice rooms, great value for money (remember, we&'re talking about Madrid), extremely nice breakfast, and also the greatest portion was that they have guided tours of Madrid each day for free. Our guide was extremely nice, funny and helpful and he gave us some wonderful insider&'s tips about the city. I&'d definitely recommend this to anyone. Oh, and I forgot to mention it&'s just 5 mins walk from the Plaza Mayor. What else could you ask

I really enjoyed the layout of the property along with the environment it encouraged. The property&'s open community spaces are numerous and there is certainly always a group of individuals awake and looking for a good conversation or to have a drink. The extremely best portion of the community spaces is they close at reasonable hours which promote a good night&'s sleep, however, they keep the bottom common room open throughout the night. This space is extremely nicely sound insulated and no noises transmit up to the rooms which is extremely much appreciated. Additionally, the two hostels, Mad and Cat&'s, are linked and allow you to go back and forth to hangout or meet other travelers. My only regret of my time at Mad hostel was my health. I was terribly sick and therefore unable to totally participate inside the many activities they offer you their patrons. With that in mind, we did receive a lot of help finding a hospital to create sure I did get back to full health.

I really like Mad hostel, it is a extremely nice spot to stay, extremely clean. Staff is really kind and helpful, specially Alberto! he was of a lot of help :). Location in great, you are near everywhere waliking and also have the metro lines right there.
