This was my second time staying at the Hanjin Hostel, having first lodged there back in 2010. The hostel is straightforward and no frills, but doesnt pretend to be far more than it is. The rooms are basic and perhaps a little dated, but this just adds to the character of the place. It is perhaps the friendliness of the owner and his wife exactly where the Hanjin excels. Often willing to help and give advice, I was far more than grateful for the information they gave me.

The owner, Mr Kwon is extremely warm and friendly and helpful. He gives great advice on what there is certainly to do in GyeongJu and how to travel to sites outside of the city. The single room with ensuite was extremely large and spacious.

Amazing couple run this place who speak French, English, Korean and a bit of Japanese. We were invited in for tea and a chat and ended up chatting to the couple for 2-3 hours as properly as the taught us some Korean which was great! They are extremely exceptional at advising on what to do and exactly where to go. We went to an excellent restaurant on their recommendation. Free wifi, towels and baggage storage.

This hostel is close to the bus terminal, the cost is unbeatable, the employees speaks english, they supply american style breakfast for really cheap, and we met a lot of new people during our stay.

Location is not faraway from sightseeing places that can reach them by walking distance. I am so lucky that the owner upgraded my room to the private room for free. The property owner are extremely nice, warm and friendly and kindly and can speak english extremely well.
