Strathspey Mountain Hostel

Lori, the hostel owner, is fantastic. When we arrived, he was across the street at the golf club, of which he is Captain. He was often full of jokes and smiles. He basically planned our entire time in Newtonmore, giving us advice about where to go and what to do. He even lent us his maps. We nonetheless talk about him and remember him fondly-great guy. The hostel itself was nice. We had everything we needed in the kitchen, and it was nice having a very good shower and sturdy bunk beds that don&'t squeak. There&'s a lot of free parking, and Newtonmore is pretty central for doing items around the highland region if you have a car. We&'d definitely stay here again.

This location is really laid back and welcoming. The fire is often prepared, ready to be lit when you get in right after a day out and about as nicely as the kitchen/living area is cosy and sociable. The beds are comfortable, the showers are hot, the drying room is excellent. I would definitely go back, ideal place for some time inside the hills.
