Staff was AWESOME and definitely made the place and trip to Coimbra for me. Was invited to have homemade dinner at the hostel with the employees and some of their close friends. Went out with them right after and had an awesome time! Breakfast was simple BUT they had a massive selection of cereal, some outstanding tea, and it was offered all day which was a huge plus for me - hate having to make a point to get up early just to save a few bucks on food. Location was outstanding as properly - was just a brief walk to the bars.

First, they didn&'t got my booking from HostelBookers. But I was lucky, there was an empty room for me. Location is great, just nearby the old city, train station (Coimbra A) and all scenes.

Very much felt like a guest house, nice layout, could be lots of people in there but didn't feel crowded. The common area and kitchen allowed for hanging out with other people if you wanted to, but wasn't too cramped that you were forced to always be sitting with one big group.

The location of this hostel is excellent. It is two mins walk from the primary square and everywhere is in walking distance of that. The staff are cool and invited you along to go out drinking with them. The staff are students who are there contantly which is cool due to the fact you become familiar with them quite well. Pretty relaxed atmosphere. In case you also cant be bothered leaving the hostel, they have a nintendo wii and a guitar if you enjoy the odd strum from time to time. The hostel is clean enough for a student pad but the rooms are spotless.
