Very helpful staff who went out of their way to organise day trips, parties and show you the top places to go in Manila (as opposed to going to Malate as per the guide book which is full of sleazy bars). Nice lounge and kitchen region - great spot to meet individuals Located in a regular Manila vicinity so you get to see the real spot instead of the tourist district. 5 mins walk to LRT I&'ve stayed at guesthouses in Malate too and I definitely prefered Red Carabao

Great staff! VERY helpfull. They can tell you everything about Manila, Philippines. Extremely best places to go, advices. We stayed there 3 times for 1-2 days (only 1st was with reservation). At first time, host helped us (group of 7 people) with getting right train and jeepney to the airport. Location is quite good: 5 minutes walk to 24/7 shop (7eleven), about 10 minutes by tricycle to shopping mall and few minutes walk to LRT station (local train). Neighborhood at first time looks not extremely safe (really, we were scared :-D), but it&'s safe - people around are extremely nice and we were walking around without any problems. Hostel is VERY clean. It&'s one of the extremely best hostels we have stayed. And yes, the price is also extremely good. ;-)

It was full of character, both the design and also the staff. It was quiet, clean had good facilities and offered a taste of Manila that was different to the usual backpacker hangouts. I learnt alot of insider knowledge on how to get about town, the very best coaches to book and places to visit inside the Philippines and which local dishes to sample. Web cafe and markets nearby. This portion of town is also interesting to explore, like walking into another dimension. Dare it if you will!

Very nice hotel, so different from others with a different reception desk. The staff are extremely warm and friendly and often eager to help you out. It&'s properly situated near the subway line, which makes trips around the city much easier and delivers direct access to crucial points of interest like the colonial spot and museums.

The staff were excellent. They were fantastic guides for the city, providing free walking tours, organizing parties, and giving lots of suggestions for food, shops, activities, etct. They even suggested that simply because i had an early morning flight, i stay at a 24-hour spa instead of the hostel, which ended up being a wonderful and comforting experience. Also, the hostel had a computer with net that theynket me use. Overall, the staff is very focused on the travelers&' experience.

The owner is extremely friendly and nice - so helpful in showing the way in Manila and how approximately peso you have to pay for you not being cheated. it is cheap. A must - pay a visit to the Chinese cemetery just few steps away inside the morning or afternoon (not at night as it can be dangerous) for the bungalow home for the dead. the cooking area is almost complete with the stove and cooking appliance
