Okay accommodation. Rooms were small, but the beds were quite comfortable. Central location. Free Wifi! Very nice lady at the front desk.

Great location inside minutes walk of all of the attractions around town and no cost parking on-site is great for a large town. Employees were pretty and really helpful. Four bed dorm was tiny, but felt really cosy with loads of space under the bunk for bags.

I came with a group of 10 individuals and all rooms were really clean, Frank at reception was extremely helpful and gave excellent tips for sightseeing around rotorua. i extremely recommend Astray!

Central, clean, comfy and a lot more like a friendly motel than a backpackers. Not a party palace. I would suggest staying here if you would like a silent spot to stay.

We had two nights in a private double room at Astray and we were extremely impressed. The room was furnished to the standard of a hotel and also had a full size fridge, microwave, kettle and toaster as nicely as a set of crockery and cutlery. There was even a little bottle of washing up liquid, dish cloth and tea towel. We never found a proper kitchen inside the hostel but we didn&'t need it. The ensuite was a little dated compared to the room but it was clean so didn&'t matter. The owner was friendly and chatty and if we had needed help I&'m sure he would have been helpful. The location was great, just a few minutes walk to the centre of town. We would definitely stay here again.

It&'s clean and central. I had a 4-bed dorm to myself one night, which was nice especially as the dorm was really small. Very good kitchen facilities.
