We really loved staying here. The location is great. The building is lovely-its rustic and quaint. The bar was cosy and the food portions generous. The steak was the greatest I&'ve had. The lady who runs it couldn&'t be much more helpful and friendly. She gave us excellent advice and information on the area. It&'s such a shame we couldn&'t stay longer and do the alpine crossing. However we fully intend to come back and will definately be staying here again!

Its a great spot to stay soon after just having completed the Tongariro Crossing and everything inside the small town is in walking distance.
