We spent 10 nights in this hostel and traveled extensively throughout Holland and Belgium all day long. Extremely happy with the conditions provided by HEM. Fresh towels daily, hot showers, central heating system (though it was May, cool weather), clean sheets in our double, French English German Italian Spanish TV channels - exciting conditions for a incredibly low fee! We booked almost a year in advance. Quiet and welcoming hostel, no one bothered us. Congratulations!

Was close to a grocery store and washing place. Had multi lingual employees reachable at all times. The people were very good (as we found with all of Amsterdam). Location is fine in case you rent a bike!

Overall a positive experience. The spot is though a great example of &"you get what you pay&", which means that it&'s not deluxe but if you just are looking for an ok spot for a cheap price, then HEM Hostel Amsterdam is for you! =) But the room had a TV, which was a extremely positive surprise!
