We had a amazing stay at Dar Mellah. As it is buried right within the center of the Medina, we quickly felt like we had become part of the local way of life. It is really well situated, only a couple of metres away from the principal lane exactly where all of the food marketplaces are, and is only 100m away from all of the other major points of interest within the medina. The flat itself is brilliantly decorated and is full of charm and atmosphere, also as meeting all our practical requirements (hot water, totally equipped cooking area etc etc). Aidan was fantastic, both just before our arrival with getting really useful info to us about Essaouira and things to do there, but also with helping us with our travel arrangements when we had some trouble getting onto a bus from Marrakech to Essa - he actually met us at the Marrakech station with bus tickets for us and ended up taking us into Jemaa el Fna for some lunch! All in all a amazing place, and highly suggested to anyone wanting to get a peaceful and authentic Essaouira experience!
