Great staffs and owners! they are often welcoming and ready to help the visitors when we need. And the setting of iguana made me comfortable like staying at home. it has a color of itself here. i will go there again if i have a chance. feel sad about staying only one day cuz of my plan.

I can&'t say enough great points about this hostel! Once you stay here, you are part of the Iguana family and are treated as such. From huge family style dinners and BBQs to insider tips on the location from owner Rudy to late night trivia, this place feels like house away from house on the road. And as a single woman travelling in Central America, this was a refreshing stopping point for my travels. It has a handy convenient location (near artisan and food markets, 10 minutes walk from significant zocolo), incredibly warm and friendly and helpful staff, hot showers and strong wifi, and great vibes all around. I know I will keep coming back to the special community that has built up around Rudy and this magnificent hostel. Thanks a lot for everything!

Of all of the hostels I&'ve stayed at around the globe there are just a few that stick out in my mind as the really best experiences I&'ve had. This is one of them. The hostel by itself is worth visiting. Fantastic rooftop views, comfortable beds, the hammocks are in outstanding shape, a computer and free wifi, SPACIOUS SHOWERS and on and on But this hostel has more. It seems to has some mystic aura that draws only the most exciting people. The employees is great as is expected but they go above and beyond which feeds this aura. Between all of the events the employees puts on in a matter of minutes that casual acquaintance becomes a life long friend. The night you spend becomes one of the highlights of your journey along with the center piece to your story. You may even uncover true love, who knows. A great stay and an even greater memory. I loved staying at this hostel and would recommend it for everyone! It felt like home because the staff create a great atmosphere. The breakfast was awesome and I even got it for free when I arrived within the morning. The kitchen is perfectly equipped. There is certainly plenty space to relax and on the roof top you can combine it with a breathtaking view over the center. Everything is reachable by foot within 20 minutes at maximum. Even tough I am not extremely talkative I got in touch with everyone really fast! I have never felt safer in a hostel.

Every time I have a look at San Cristobal I stay in Iguana Hostel that is certainly definitely my favourite spot in Mexico :) The atmosphere created by the property owner Rudy as nicely as the staff make me feel there like at home! The hostel has gorgeous garden with hammocks, spacious kitchen and terrace exactly where the staff prepares tasty breakfasts (every day something different): scrambled eggs, pancakes, french toasts, guacamole, fresh fruits, cereals and needless to say delicious coffee from Chiapas and tee. The rooms and dorms are cozy, clean and comfortable. What is extremely critical - each dormitory has lockers so you can put your valuables there. The staff was ready to help and answer all my questions. What I liked you can book the tours and shuttles to Guatemala inside the reception and they pick you up directly from the hostel. The location of Iguana is just perfect! Close to Santo Domingo handcrafts market, vegetable and fruits marketplace place and all the very best bars exactly where you can enjoy the night life of San Cristobal!

Stay a few days at the Iguana and you end up feeling like part of the family. The staff are very useful and create a fun, friendly vibe. They often organize community dinners, barbecues, and trivia nights, which make it super easy to meet people. Suggested especially for solo travelers who need to create friends. There&'s a kitchen, computer, hot showers, hammocks, and almost certainly the highest breakfast you&'ll have at a hostel (it&'s included inside the price, and varies from day to day. guacamole, french toast, banana fritters, etc). It often gets cold during the night in San Cris, but the staff have extra blankets in case you need them.

Iguana is a very nice hostel. You have very good breakfast, computer and warm ambiance. Its the kind of place exactly where everyone get together and share meals and activities. I figured out that people ended up staying a lot a lot more time than they were suppose to due to the fact the place is just so great.
