It was quite clean, at least with regards to dorms/rooms bathrooms. The location couldn't be better. Right inside the middle of down-town Guanajuato. The university is just a few steps from there, also as the Plaza, cafes & restaurants. Veronica could have not been nicer. There's a computer for common use (not an old, slow one, but a cool one) and you can come in whenever you want, as they give you your own key to lock the significant door! (ha ha ha. you'd greater be conscientious about locking, though. For everyone's safety). I had the whole dorm for myself, but then It was mid week, so I don't know how dynamics are affected during weekends and/or peak season. It felt quite secure overall, anyway. I could walk late during the night around the area with no problems at all.

The location is exceptional for access to everything in Guanajuato, including the remarkable coffee shop on the same street at number 35. Access to and from the central bus terminal is also very easy- no need to take taxis. Wireless connection is very good along with the dorm had each single and bunk beds and large lockers.

Private rooms are an excellent bargain. Close to center of the Centro. Cheap restaurants nearby. Friendly staff. Wi-fi. Usually pretty quiet.

Friendly staff, lots of character inside the building itself and a fantastic location, just a block from La Paz Plaza. I would just note that on take a look at the staff tried to get me to pay 350 pesos for the night even though we had verification from HB that the rate was 340 and that we had paid 10% so only had to pay 306 on departure. Employees did not seem to know what HB was.
