Hogar de Carmelita was a warm, welcoming spot to stay during our short trip to Guanajuato. Carmen and her staff prepared a delicious (and large) breakfast each morning, and even made us vegetarian dishes. She was a great source of info of local items to do and places to eat. Our room was quite comfortable.

Friendly warm welcoming hostess - Carmen was great. The breakfasts were extremely great and Carmen gave us options. 15 - 20 minute walk to town, but extremely exciting walk, and buses are an option but we never used them - chose to walk. Washing close by. On street parking only - initially we had to park a little distance away, but we shifted our car close by when the street was less crowded. Straightforward to find.

Me and my amigo had a gorgeous three day stay here! Carmelita is a wonderful host who is so warm and friendly and welcoming! She made us a wonderful breakfast each and every morning at the same time as afternoon lunch one day. Her hospitality is superb and she has a gorgeous personality ;) The place is beautifully decorated, really clean and really affordable! We would recommend anyone who visits Guanajuato to stay in Hogar de Carmelita!

Our stay at Hogar de Carmelita has been fantastic, we have LOVED staying at this great guesthouse hosted by the great Carmel, she has been much more than helpful and generous, and even served us (free) delicious homemade Mexican breakfast. My partner and I stayed in a private room and it was lovely. It is located not quite within the centre of town but is an straightforward 10 minute walk, and is a great opportunity to walk off breakfast, or lunch or dinner in town. We would both suggest staying here to anyone; it is clean and not too noisy, near to town, friendly and very welcoming. Thank you, Carmel!

Carma is extremely friendly as nicely as the place feels more like a guesthouse than a hostel. Her household is in and out as nicely as the environment is extremely peaceful and comfortable. Superb breakfasts and Carma even nursed me some as I was getting over a bad cold. Carma will give you suggestions on sites to see in Guanajuato. The rooms are cozy and extremely clean.
