As far as African hostels go, this is a pretty good one, basic and straight to the point. Fairly near to the center of Nairobi, but also far enough away so that it&'s not noisy at night. The hostel is across from the hospital and Java House (a great coffee shop in Nairobi). We had a 4-person room, which was pretty clean. Friendly employees (especially the guard) as well as the restaurant downstairs is cheap and decent. Their beans and rice are pretty good and only about 150 shillings (2 USD). The hostel is overall good value for the money.

Nice rooftop to sit and relax. Nicely kept grounds. Huge living room and dining room area. Excellent food at really reasonanle prices. Only US$9. 00 a night to stay - which is a bargain. Huge male bathroom. Very informative and warm and friendly 24 hour safety guard. I will go back there anytime.

Hi everyone, just wanted to let u all know that if u want cheap accom with no thrills and just a bed to sleep for the nite then the place is ok. make sure u bring own toilet paper and either have a shower early in the morning or late at nite when there is a bit more pressure in water pipes. like i said if u want cheap accom, its ok, otherwise i'm sure u can find something slightly better if u are prepared to pay a little extra. all in all for one nite it was ok, next time i'll bring some "Mortein" for the mosquitos though.
