Good atmosphere, cute Japanese style building and rooms, with friendly staff.

This was the very best hostel we stayed at in Japan. First night we joined in a free Japanese calligraphy class, as properly as the second night there was a live band. Dorm beds are Japanese style, half on the floor, half loft-style, and all can be screened off with blinds for privacy. Cafe downstairs serves good curry.

The best hostel I have stayed at. The employees were helpful and friendly, and also the tatami rooms were comfortable and spacious (more so than a bunk bed). The location had a great setting and really made an effort to take care of its guests. I came to Osaka a few times during my stay as it was quite central, and even when the hostel was totally booked the second time they welcomed me as a friend. The only minor downside is its distance to the nearest train station, but it only takes 5 mins and also the station is on the Osaka Loop line which is superb for JR pass holders. The U-en is highly recommended.

Great atmosphere, helpful employees (all of whom spoke really good english), dividers between beds for privacy were a really nice touch.

Really special and cool atmosphere. Walking distance from the Osaka castle.

All the little touches really make this spot stand out from the others I have been in while travelling around Japan. for example they have a tiny little river running through the lobby area. So numerous other little things, like the Ninja shower, you have to encounter for yourself!
