Harbour Home Review: I found the home properly established, staffed by busy, helpful and properly informed staff. The kitchen, dining region including food storage (fridges) and sitting room were spacious, clean with the sitting room providing the unusual comfort of an old-fashioned fire place, giving off that glow of contented relaxation to visitors the surrounding furnishing is of the trendy dated sort, affording great temptation for prolonged periods of relaxation. The accommodation region comprising of some 16 rooms, but with just two bathrooms for the needs of visitors which one lady commented were not quite enough for the numbers of visitors needing to use the bathrooms at busy periods, although personally I had no problem. The toilet and shower areas were spotlessly clean and had plenty of tissue available, some thing that is often over-looked in many establishments. The bedrooms and beds were clean, properly aired and extremely comfortable. Fire exits were properly marked with smoke extinguishers, detectors and emergency lighting much in evidence; however the windows in my dorm room (15) and on the corridor landing outside the room were locked with only the small fly window offered for ventilation in a room sleeping four people. Such windows also offer you an additional exit point in the event of emergency. The home is properly situated, just a ten minute walk from Sligo town center and train and bus stations. Nice cooking area and common area, all kept extremely clean. We had a double ensuite which was extremely reasonable comapred to hotels offering extremely similar standard of accomodation. Only 5 mins from train station and 10mins walk from town centre.

Good help on exactly where to eat, hear trad Irish music ( The Harp! ), cozy bed, and an excellent breakfast ( cook yourself, but free), and use of washing facilities.

The clerk/manager was really efficient, warm and friendly and did my laundry washing quickly and well.
