Lovely owner who was really helpful with local and Kerala wide info and helped us book trains and plan our trip. Downstairs room was lovely, air con and fan worked well. Upstairs bamboo room was ok, reflected inside the price difference - very good mosquito net. Would stay again, made us really feel extremely welcome and comfortable.

I liked everything about this property. The care and kindness of the owners is beyond measure. A pretty welcome, nice large room with A/C and wet room and toilet. No hot water in bathroom but accessible anytime from the pretty Uma. Nice outside location to sit at the same time as a roof rooftop for reading, dining etc. Free wireless too. Uma&'s cooking is also fantastic! I am a Food Teacher and don&'t give compliments lightly, but the chapat&'s were the lightest I have ever eaten along with the Kerelan fish curry wonderful! Chicken curry tonight, I can&'t wait! These people could teach us Brits a thing or two about curtesy, manners and service. Iona Evans

Ashtamudi House Stay is exactly the kind of location we are looking for during our backpacking trips. Near the boat jetty as properly as the bus station, this warmly home stay belongs to a extremely nice family, really open and full of tips. Nice rooms upstairs. We were alone and we really enjoyed this quietful place. Thanks a lot for everytthing.

Our room was massive and airy and also the employees were exceptional and arranged a bargain back water cruise for us much less expensive than the touts. The public area is good for meeting other folk and we spent a very pleasing evening consuming cold beers and chatting.

People where really helpfull and friendly. It really felt like a home. communial room was also massive which is great for playing games of talk to other people. Also great due to the fact rooms are a bit small.
