We are simply a stonethrow from the Reykjavik pond, the Laugavegur shopping street with all of its eating places, stores, galleries, cafes and pubs. Galtafell is a family run guesthouse that welcomes children, we wish to make sure our guests have all of the convenience of a home whilst they stay with us.

I loved the welcome we received from Thorey and the general helpfulness and warmth of the staff. The guesthouse was very cosy and in a perfect location to the primary shopping streets and attractions across Reykjavik. I can&'t wait to go back!

Great location, quite residential area and very near to all of the main points of interest in Reykjavik. A stones throw from the cathedral which has amazing scenery of the city. The rooms are much more like self contained apartments and amazingly good value. The owner is a lovely lady who is often willing to help and give advice. She even let us borrow her map of Iceland. Would definitely stay here again!

Very pleasant stay that felt comfy and welcoming. The breakfast on offer was exceptional and we extremely much felt at ease being a guest. Amazing value for money.

We stayed in an apartment, which was separate from the principal house, and it felt extremely homely. It was bigger than I expected which was a bonus. The kitchen was properly equipped. Breakfast was good, a wide variety that should suit all - no hot food though. Location is great, and you can access central Reykjavik easily, and parking is offered on street. The cat was a nice addition, and was extremely friendly!
