It had the basics: bed, bathroom, fridge, tv, ac, towels. It was cheap. I had freedom and privacy. It was secure and secure. I was given a key to my room within the hotel and also the outside door of the hotel which let me come and go when I happy and helped security. In those respects it was a great value.

I booked a 4 bed dorm, but they put me in a two bed room for the same price. And when I had to extend my stay another day, I got a discounted rate on that night. The air conditioner was good and there was a communal fridge I could use. The hostel is well located, but be sure to tell the bus driver or attendant that you want Emborio Square, or they won't stop and there are no signs to tell you.

I booked a dorm and was put in a nice room with a double bed, ensuit and fridge. although i think that only happened due to the fact of the language barrier

Very nice guy, he is large and looks intiminading at first but once you familiarize yourself with him, hes cool and extremely laid back.
