Obviously, its on a boat and so you have to expect a certain &"rustic&" character. But that all adds to its charm. Its a lot much more intimate and personal than a typical slick, soulless hostel you might get in a bigger city like Berlin. This makes it straightforward to meet people as there is a small and cosy cooking area and common area, and makes it straightforward to get to know the hosts, which adds a human touch to the place. Unfortunately I didnt see Thomas until briefly at the really end but he seemed really friendly, and Jasmin is one of the loveliest and most friendly people you could ever meet. And at the end of the day, thats much more essential than being a super-slick shiny but soulless establishment. Sadly when I was there the weather was pretty bad, but I can imagine inside the summer this location would be even better, with barbecues on deck and much more people around etc.

The owners were spectacularly friendly and helpful. They were really laid back and cool. We were there during cold weather season along with the hostelboat was warm and clean. I would definitely suggest this hostelboat to friends and family.

Thomas was incredibly friendly and welcoming! He definitely gave us the type of hostel expertise I&'ve often come to enjoy - coming to a location with personality and hospitality. We definitely got excellent value for our money at this hostel, and it was the excellent location for us to stay for our have a look at to Potsdam. He even took us on a small boat to the train station at the end of our stay! We had never slept on a boat before and really enjoyed the expertise of living on a boat. The common areas are extremely lovely and made you really feel like you weren&'t even on a boat!
