It had a lot of character. Despite being near the Barbes area, I didn&'t feel threatened at all, despite being out late at night. The staff were kind enough to look right after one case for me when I went to Brussels for two days, and generous enough not to create me move rooms when I should have transferred to a non-en-suite room for my final night. I would stay there again.

We liked the location greatly - it is extremely near to Gare du Nord, so you can easily reach it from the airport, also it is near to Monmartr. The metro station Cadet is 50 metres from the hotel.

The position was great and great price. If you&'re not looking for luxury it is a great option, especially with the character like the steep winding staircase. You wouldn&'t desire to stay particularly long in case you were on a higher floor. Our inexpensive room almost certainly gave us this privilege although we also got a fairly rickety balcony which we would have made much more use of if we&'d stayed longer.

Very good value for money. The location is central. We could walk and Velib-cycle to anywhere exciting in Paris and never entered the Metro. The building is, naturally, old, but well kept and clean. During our stay they were redecorating and our room had new wall paper. There is certainly a toilet on any floor, and with some five rooms or so per floor, this is no problem. We got a room inside the fifth floor (spiral starcase, no elevator), with a tiny balcony (sufficient to hold two chairs but not a table), a private douche and two electric sockets. The place is open 24 hours a day. We returned right after midnight and were always promptly admitted. Since we only used the hotel for sleeping and spent the entire days sightseeing and visiting, we have found this place an superb value for money.

You pay what you get. It&'s close to the metro and about 10 minutes fast walking to the Gare du Nord.

The location was great, exceptional neighborhood. Everything nearby. Staffed all hours, we came back past midnight and someone was at the desk. For the money I suppose you get what you pay for. Suited us for just one night.
