Hostel Suomenlinna

This was our first time in Helsinki, and, not being really regular international travellers, it may be our only time visiting. It&'s an unorthodox spot to stay, but for setting, there possibly isn&'t a more special spot within the city, so I&'m glad we chose it. Facilities are basic but all in excellent working order, so (location and all) you get more than your money&'s worth by staying here. The regular ferry service means the city center is easily accessible, and the sunrise over the old fortress walls (20 mins walk) isn&'t to be missed if the weather and season are right. We&'d recommend.

The guy at the Reception is Very nice and Kind. The Hostel is pretty, extremely organizzed. Nice Cooking area - confy beds, huge common area, no cost computers and wi-fi

This hostel was really silent when we were there but could easily accommodate large groups. It&'s extremely near to the ferry dock and next to the little supermarket on the island. Breakfast is provided and coffee is often available! There&'s a small lounge location with free net as nicely as the employees were helpful in showing us around. The island itself is great to explore and there&'s lots of places to have a picnic by the sea.

While the hostel building has stood there for some 100 years the inside is all clean and renovated. I liked staying on an island with all the history around me. The islands offer some silent walks and you can learn about Finnish history and culture whilst enjoying stunning scenery of the sea. The island has some cafes and eating places as properly as a grocery store, so you can pick no matter whether you desire to eat out of use the kitchen. It is still reasonably quick to get to the town center and the ferryboat ride is portion of the experience.

It&'s a normal hostel, but in an amazing location, the island of suommenlinna. inside the evening after the travelers go back to helsinki you almos have the island for yourself. you can see rabbits running around the hostel from your window.

The location was really special being away from the mainland but the ferry service was so frequent that it wasnt an inconvenience.
