In terms of location, you can&'t really ask for much better. As well as this, the staff are really friendly and there is certainly a really relaxed atmosphere. I&'m surprised at the reviews criticizing the cleanliness of the place; it seemed fine to me. Not deluxe holiday accommodation but I would by no means expect that for the price I paid.

It was very central and with lovely and polite stuff and warm and friendly casual atmosphere. Nice television to relax inside the common area and nice wall painting on the way to the showers.

The staff (other than the manager) tried hard to rectify what is a really poorly managed business - really friendly and laid back. The lounge room region is large, inclusive of a bar, pool table and DVD/VHS shelf. I imagine travellers enjoying a long stay would find this location most desirable for a relax out, if the management style made you really feel far more welcome to begin with. Fantastic location! This location oozes potential, but with a new manager and business ethos please.

Staff were really warm and friendly and it had a community setting to it. To be fair, at &xa3;13 a night, I didn&'t expect anything classy and it met my needs. Very good location as well. If you&'re coming to St Ives and looking to party, surf and sight see, whilst on a budget, this does the trick. I had a more enjoyable encounter here than in some more &"up market&" and cleaner hostels because of the setting and I hope it&'s open nextvyear, as I&'d like to go back to the town.

I stayed at the hostel in winter, so it was almost empty. I found the old building comfortable, spacious and clean, although I am aware that it might give a different impression in summer. There is certainly a massive kitchen, which at that part of the year closes around 10 pm, and a nice common room, whose only defect is a noisy TV. In relation to the staff, all I can say is that the man at the reception was extremely helpful. For instance, at my request he searched in the Web the address of Virginia Woolf&'s Holidays&' home (Talland House), a spot definitely worth a visit.

Excellent location along with the property and facilities are good. A nice lounge area inside and also another area outside for when the sun shines. I was here in winter along with the lounge was pretty and warm - as were the dorm rooms. Kitchen is well equipped along with the lounge has a large flat screen tv.
