Cheap and cheerful, no frills, does what it says on the tin, 1970&'s style building and decor. Not for the fussy or pampered, what you see is what you get.

It is the begging of high season in london. Cost for a night is now about twice expensive in a lots of hostels in London. But The Lodge&'s cost was still same as last couple month somehow. So I could stay in a single room with almost same cost as the other hostel&'s DORM. Yay! The reason why I use the Lodge often is not only the reasonable price. 1. The location is outstanding to me. I use Gatwick airport and my business is in East Croydon. From Gatwick, East croydon is on the way to the middle of London city. So loads trains go through East Croydon. From East croydon, take bus410 to Crystal Palace. About 15min, you will be in a front of Crystal location train station. 2. The tranquility. The lodge is inside the large national sports park. So night time is brilliantly quiet. Couldn&'t believe it is in London city. 3. Stuff are amazingly helpful and warm and friendly that&'s super important portion of stay. Breakfast good enough! Warm water is offered all of the time. Huge bath towel is provided. Lovey stuff. I&'m pregnant (17wks) so did not want to take any stress. So I select The lodge always.

The staff were stunning and sooo helpful. Very convenient and great value Comfortable, very clean bedding (wooden bed frame a little noisy) Noiseless on a sat night :) Stored my bike so I didn&'t have to leave it within the car.
