Great value for money and employees extremely helpful. The only downside is it&'s quite out of the way, I drove so that wasn&'t a problem personally. But on the positive side of its position, it was a really peaceful area.

While I rated the location only average, that&'s mainly simply because of the sheer trek from the station at Windermere to get to the hostel. The location is fantastic, each and every morning waking up to a different view of the fells with lake Windermere peeking in to view, sometimes clear, sometimes with low hanging cloud giving it an eerie sense of foreboding. Peaceful and well situated for those odd nights where the sky is clear, laying the entire universe bare before you (I saw seven meteors and two comets on my last night alone, plus a couple more on the second night). Spectacular. The staff were also tremendously warm and friendly and helpful, and also the food and drink was well priced and adequate for what I needed.

The view was amazing, the location extremely convenient, along with the staff were really helpful. Rooms were basic but good value for money, and exceptionally clean and comfortable.

Pretty much everything, fantastic staff, clean, warm, welcoming. Quite some way from the town, but all you need is offered when you arrive, including reasonably priced meals and a bar.

Loved this hostel. We stayed in a private room of 4 (number 11). The view was fantastic from our room and the dinning room, the facilities were clean and the whole hostel was extremely nice. I&'d say you need a car if you&'re going to stay here and the doors shut at 11pm, so not great in case you wanted to wander into town for a drink, but the hostel has its own bar and the environment is nice and relaxed. They also do dinner and packed lunches. There&'s also a petrol station and reasonable sized shop at the end of the road for supplies.
