Rooms were clean and comfortable. The communal cooking area was wonderful as it had most appliances and plenty of room to cook. The region was meant to be unsafe but we found it to be okay as long as you caught taxis at night.

A small hostel, located one street away from the action (it is surrounded by other hostels, as opposed to bars). At the time I stayed all of the travelers were extremely respectful of noises etc so it was a pleasing stay. Bathroom and cooking area are thoroughly cleaned each morning which is outstanding (no grotty kitchen! ). You can buy breakfast for $2 if you like. I had room 3 - a SMALL room with Q/S bed && no windows, but this turned out to be a blessing in disguise becasue all of the other rooms have windows opening onto the street or back area, and they get a little bit of noises from outside.
