Hostel Dioklecijan is really good value for money. We got the whole room + small cooking area and bathroom. It was way better than we expected. The place was clean and nice, the location was extremely central as properly as the landlady was kind. We definitely recommend this for a nice stay in Split.

I got in around midnight, and there was someone awaiting me outside to take me the next street over to their other property. the room was spic and span. it&'s about a 15 minute walk from the bus station, and since the directions are terrible on this site, here are far better ones: 1. when you get out of your bus and are facing the station, go LEFT down the road and it will run into the oceanwalk. 2. follow that where it curves around to the left, toward a ginormous palace-looking thing as properly as the line of palm trees (these are impossible to see at night) 3. walk down the walking location about 5 minutes, and take a right on a street with all white marble stores and pavement 4. when you see (and smell) the fish market, take the right immediately ahead of it. this leads to a dead end. turn right there (you have to) as properly as the hostel is on your first left. hope this helps!

Stayed in a doublebed and it wasnxb8;t in the hostel. Situated at a residential building in the other side of the square, there was much noise along with the room didnxb8;t really feel safe. The bed made A LOT of noise, what was really unconfortable. Besides, the warm water ran out in EVERY shower. The worst part, however, was when we were about to check out. There was nobody at the reception and, as my girlfriend had a flight to get, we couldnxb8;t wait. I was supposed to go to another city, but I came back to return the keyes, just to be mistreated by the hostels owners. Althought the employees tried to be helpfull, it was their mistake not telling me the keyes could possibly be left in the apartment, along with the owners were really unpleasent (not to say other things). Wouldnxb8;t recommend.

The people who ran it were great, and it was in a wonderful location right inside the heart of Split. It was an outstanding value for the money. I would stay there again in a heartbeat.
