Firstly, a lot of thanks to Sonia Moppett for leaving such detailed directions in her earlier review on this site it made the apartment really effortless to find. I will repeat them here: From Pile gate - go back up the street the bus has just driven down and to your left you will see a long set of steps - go up these. At the top, turn left, then turn next right up another set of steps. This will take you to a principal road. Turn left at the top of the steps. Walk along this road, past the cafe and bakery until you come to some steps with lions on the top. Go up these steps until you reach number 10 - go through the gate, until the end where you will find the apartments marked LOVRIC. In case anyone is wondering exactly what a lot of steps means, I counted approximately 320 among the shuttle bus stop by Pile Gate and also the front door of the apartment via this route. Once you know where youre going there are lots of different routes up the hill to Zagrebacka I sometimes used different sets of steps, and counted 355 of them! The further left you go, the more steps there are. Reviews of Apartment Ramona on numerous websites seem divided into 2 camps: people who get what they asked for adore the place, but people who are double-booked and moved elsewhere have a less positive experience. I got the lodging I had reserved, and loved it. The apartment was clean and spacious, and also the outside rooftop with a view of the sea and Lovrijenac fortress was a real bonus. It does have some quirks (such as one bedroom having two bedside lamps, where the other has none, no washing up bowl or plug inside the cooking area makes it difficult to wash up, and lots of random cabling sticking out of the walls of the principal bathroom), but these dont detract from the charm of the place. The advantage of already having had to climb up 320+ steps to reach the apartment is that youre already a excellent way up Mount Srd. To reach the top on foot: continue up Ivana Mazuranica and when you reach the road go right then immediately left up Od Kriza. Where it forks, take a left through an archway and up more steps. Youll come out to the left of a road tunnel: cross the carriageway, up some concrete steps, and cross another carriageway. There are some steps immediately opposite leading into the trees this is the begin of the zig zag path up the hillside, past the 14 stations of the cross. The views are stunning.

Location was good, although someone might have a problem with all the steps, but that&'s Dubrovnik. Owner helped us locate a free parking space, so we didn&'t have to pay for the expensive garage.

Amazing view and very helpful and friendly staff, stunning air con, quiet and calm but simple reach of the old town. Lots of steps-or nice gentle road in case you really can&'t do stairs-but everywhere in Dubrovnik has steps!

Fabulous location, really helpful staff. The room was very clean, along with the bathroom was fantastic - huge, clean, totally tiled, the shower had multiple heads and there were 2 sinks.

The room and bathroom were clean and modern day and we loved the colour and style of our room. We had access to a cooking area but only used it for the fridge. When we arrived there was no sign saying Apartment Ramona and we weren&'t sure we were at the right place, after ringing the bell a few times we were greeted with a cold drink and a map. We were told the top places to eat as nicely as the top beaches and there was a patio and rooftop with amazing views of Dubrovnik. Yes there are a lot of stairs but it was not a problem, going down the stairs to the old town took about 10 minutes, going up could take a bit longer depending on how fit you are!
