Beautiful location with a lovely view of the lake. Far enough from town that it felt peaceful, but a easy 5 minute walk to a tienda or 10 minute walk to the main plaza. Had two lovely young dogs and two really cute cats! Staff were friendly, along with the spot felt homely. Nice clean kitchen and bathrooms.

The location and property are beautiful, as is the view. The employees was consistently cleaning to keep the location clean.

After Cartagena I was in for a few days in a a lot more relaxed environment, so I sped a few days in Guatape. El Encuerto was the ideal hostal for me: very relaxed, very helpfull and friendly staff, fantastic views from balcony. Excellent location just outside the village.

This is a really cool little spot to stay. Its not to huge and has a really peaceful setting with scenery over the lake.

Beautiful setting, friendly staff (except owner who tends to be a little grumpy), much better view than LakeView-Hostel. Excellent activities (swimming in the lake, mountainbiking, hiking, climbing, . . ), stars spangled sky during the night time - it&'s a little paradise.

The view of the lake and El Penol is awesome and there is certainly such tranquility. Excellent if your right after somewhere to chill, you simply could not really feel anything but relaxed.
