The view from rooftop bar, an old observatory makes it place special and special, there is also a huge dog named Wilson, so cute. Staying here just really feel like staying in another place on this earth. You may also meet another travellers from other country and share your experiences. The tour info on the reception, and bunch of Lonely Planet guides your travel all around Qingdao, China or another country! The staffs are helpful and try their finest to communicate in English!

I liked the location, the bar on the rooftop. Beer and other drinks are really cheap. Some days they had really good food. 60 Yuan for all you can eat including beer. I really liked the coffee too. The staff was extremely warm and friendly and patient to noisy travelers like us.

The staff here are exceptional. They went far out of their way to help me locate certain spots and were invaluable in booking train/plane tickets for further travel. I was allowed to use their chinese credit card to book tickets an simply pay them. They made several errors in my booking (see below), but rectified the situation almost instantly. The roof top bar is very nice as well.

Some of the negative comments I read before staying here complained about it being up a hill and being a bit old and tatty. It is up a hill and it is an old building/hostel - however those we some of my favourite points about it. Great hostel, the roof cafe/bar has fantastic views, low price beer and decent enough breakfast. Its a really exciting unique building - a one of a kind hostel. The staff and owner were friendly, helpful and nice. I really enjoyed myself and wouldnt hesitate to recomment it.

Great character with a roof top bar, Exceptional vibe, and kool decor. Absolutely nothing really bad to say has everything. U need in a hostel so everything was ok. Only thing I didn&'t like was the thin mattresses inside the room, but that my just be my personal preference

This is a amazing and friendly hostel. The staff are gorgeous and always willing to help. The rooftop bar has an outstanding setting in the evenings too. The local dog Wilson is also a amazing addition, brightening everyone&'s days!

-excellent food and friendly staff inside the cafe/ bar. open early till late each and every day. serving delicious food and exceptional value draught beer. -private room was spacious. clean. -wifi worked well. -location in old city is attractive
