That&'s the most effective hostel option in Salvador in my opinion, I&'ve been in a few hostels in Barra and Historic center. This one was the coziest, with best restrooms, cleanest, much better breakfast, nice bars in the same sidewalk and a guitar. ok, little bit worn, but it works fine. The employees speaks a little bit english, but they do their best. You&'ll have to walk 5 min. to get to the beach, but in the average, it worth the stay.

The whole environment of the hostel was great. The employees though not speaking english were really helpful and friendly. We had anything we wanted at anytime it was like being home. It was a safe region and really close to the beach and the Shopping Barra surrounded by many restaurants with amazing food.

Nice hostel, a well-diversified guest mixture and friendly but a bit disorganized staff. A downside was that during Carnaval there was no split between male/female rooms, people were sleeping on the floor as well and rooms were not cleaned. Benefit of doubt that this won't happen outside the Carnaval season
