It was a private hostal in between ipanema and Santa Teresa. The property owner was realy nice to us. Breakfast ervery morning with one sandwich, juice, tee or coffee, cake and fruits. The location is not that bad. Up the hill is the realy nice district st. teresa with small bars and restaurants. The bus station is 5min down the hill. in case you know the bus number you can get erverywhere from there.

We only stayed here one night in between flights so I can&'t comment on much. But the room and private toilet were spotlessly clean and the hosts were really warm and friendly and helpful. I can&'t comment on the location because we never ventured out of the pousada other then to get into taxis. The breakfast was brilliant to. Exactly what we needed.

It was one of the cheapest options around for during Carnaval (although ridiculously expensive during off season). The hostel was busy but not entirely booked. There is certainly a roof terrace, cooking area and lounge area which are all nice. Alex, the owner, maintained to get us cheap Sambadrome tickets.

Alex was extremely helpful when around, got us tickets to the sambadrome. near to nightlife and walking distance to sambadrome. Clean cozy and warm and friendly atmosphere

Alex is the man! He makes sure you feel right at home the second you walk in. He goes out of his way to help you out. A best ambassador for the country. This location is run simply and really well. Its tucked away up a hill and is a fantastic jumping off point to anywhere you want in Rio. Exceptional location to meet people to go out on the town with.

Alex was a wonderful host, laid-back but attentive, warm and friendly and informative the rooms upstairs (double beds) are nicer, wooden floors, high ceilings, independent but private bathrooms, theres a kitchen region and a mini fride outside the room for keeping water cool. its a ideal place for independent backpackers, who are looking for a place to call house for a few days, its not the greatest place for meeting people unless the dorm rooms downstairs are full. if you&'re nice to alex, he may offer to wash your clothes.
