The spot is wonderful! It was the highest holidays we&'ve ever had. In case you want to encounter Brasil we recomend this hostel really much. It is situated in a national park so that you can take a walk inside the jungle, jump into waterfalls and gorgeous beaches are about 50km from there too. For us it was much greater than our stay in Rio de Janeiro the following days. Best of all however is the household owning the place. Thank you so much once a lot more ;-)

If you are searching for some thing different, this is it. Outstanding fun, Outstanding time, totally comforting and exciting ! Outstanding location to escape from city noises and traffic. The hostel is encompassed by river and you see the fantastic view of mountains just infront of you. Outstanding hospitality and cosy and warm and friendly atomoshphere. We enjoyed kayakking, trekking, meeting local people, having brazillian meals with the household and doing nothing! waterfalls to see and Stunning nature and animals to explore. reminds you what you are.

If you are interested in some thing different, this is it. Great fun, Great time, absolutely comforting and exciting ! Great location to escape from city noises and traffic. The hostel is surrounded by river and you see the outstanding view of mountains just infront of you. Superb hospitality and cosy and friendly atomoshphere. We enjoyed kayakking, trekking, meeting local people, having brazillian meals with the household and doing nothing! waterfalls to see and Stunning nature and animals to explore. reminds you what you are.

Loved it! The Island Hostel is our official home away from home within the state of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. I arrived sick with strep throat and sick of Rio (the city). The owners (mom and dad) took me to the doctor, gave us a comfortable and cozy home, provided home-cooked meals and delicious pizza, and showed us all of the cool places to go around Sana. The hostel is located on a natural preserve with limited communication and transportation services, so pay CLOSE attention to details about how to arrive there. But, once you get there its like paradise, within the middle of amazing mountains and gorgeous waterfalls just a van ride away. If youre looking for a natural retreat, with a river 10 metres from the house, opportunities for river tubing, kayaking, and great company, go to the Island Hostel!
