Eventhough the New Ipanema is not in ideal shape it has soul! The guys are really calm and make you laugh. They were helpful and friendly. They suggested favela tour and if you are in Rio you should definitly go with Colin. Just ask Franklin inside the hostel and he will arrange everything for ya. While waiting, Scott will make you ideal capirinha. Appreciate Rio. Rok&Lili

Great location, about 5 minutes walk from the beach. Good atmosphere with the other hostels nearby. Franklin ran the place well and was very helpful with booking tours or taxis. He's a real character, glad I met him. Even though I thought it was dear, I'd stay there againI w

A personal feel to the hostel, not too massive with an superb clean bathroom. The owner Franklin was fantastic aswell. An easy going guy who personally introduced himself && was extremely helpful trying to arrange any trips I wanted to do. Low-cost beers aswell!

It was very welcoming and a excellent location to meet people, especially if travelling alone. Intended on stayng 3 nights, ended up spednding a week!

The hostel is fantastic. It offers a ideal hostile encounter for the common backpacker. facilities are exceptional and kept up well. the staff and owner (Franklin) are as accomadating as could be. it has an extremely laid back atmosphere. and its really straightforward here to meet fellow travelers. The only hostel I have been in that serves a exceptional breakfeast from 9 to noon, and they also assist you with anything you need as far as tours, local info, etc. Would extremely much recommend this hostel to just about any type of traveller as it has silent rooms, at the same time as a exceptional party atmosphere, so you get the very best of each worlds. Would definitely come back any time I am in Rio!
