Vanessa and Tito made our stay so comfortable and were on hand at all times to give us wonderful advice about things to do. All the other positive reviews are definitely true! The room had everything we needed and was cleaned daily. Vidigal is an wonderful location and it was wonderful to stay somewhere so special so 100% for location but as another user said its not right inside the middle of town. Saying that, it&'s easy enough to travel back and forth each day and we wouldn&'t hesitate to recommend staying here- if we had our stay over again we definitely would have done everything exactly the same. Hiking up Dois Irmaos right behind the favela was also a highlight-definitely recommend that. Again as another user said we felt really safe at all times walking around Vidigal and everyone was really friendly.

It does everything it says on the tin. Vanessa and Tito are awesome and will do everything they can to create your pay a visit to to Rio a fantastic one, giving lots of advice usually over a beer. The life and character of the Favela IS the life and character of Rio. These guys tell you that they are high inside the Favela with a fantastic view so in case you want that then the location is great, no surprises.

The view is astonishing. The home is best if you want peace and quietness. and everything was so clean. But go out and you will discover pubs and nightlife to have fun. Outstanding place.

Great location, just 3 mins walk from Largo do Santino, in Vidigal. Really warm and friendly neighbours. After a few days, I felt very much at home inside the location. I always felt safe when walking about and shopping in Vidigal. The place was secured by a surrounding wall with locked door onto the street. Vanessa provided superb and sensitive support in helping me to settle in to the house and is location. Vanessa had lots of useful knowledge and advice to help me to make the most of my first trip to Rio.

Great place to stay in Rio. Venessa and Tito are extremely helpfull. Outstanding value for money and a far more &'Brazilian&' experience than staying in Leblon, Ipanema or Copacabana. Extremely recommendable.

A superb location inside the favela. The region really wasn&'t what I was expecting, the favela is basically a neighbourhood of the city with superb community spirit. Everyone we passed was extremely warm and friendly and welcoming. Tito and Vanessa are great, they are really warm and friendly and superb to have a chat with. Vanessa knows Rio inside out. Local buses pass the entrance of the favela and go to Ipanema, Copacabana and Centro. Highly recommended!

Vanessa and Tito are really pretty people, very helpful and happy to relax out with you. Also, living in a favela is a great expertise as the individuals are so welcoming and friendly. It is great value for money.

Tis a shame there is no &"excellent&" option. only bad/average/good DESERVING OF 2 Positive ratings ^_^ Vanessa && Tito are an awesome young couple, who have opened their homes and have welcomed travelers and travellers alike to the small home in Favela Vidigal, they have made our stay the most satisfying and adventurous!. . . All those warnings about DANGER in a Favela is over-rated and useless. Tito && Vanessa are extremely friend

A stay in a favela is extremely interessting. there is certainly a cool energy. when we arrived the first thing we heard and saw was a samba group practicing. :) it can be a bit loud here, but I like that energy. Also, the owners are really wonderful and also the location was lovely. Easy but clean.

Everything - the atmosphere, the hosts, the room and faclities, the location. Vanessa and Tito were so warm and friendly and accomodating that it felt much more like staying with old friends. I felt very safe, right after initial reservations of being an over 50 year old female tourist walking alone through such a busy area. I enjoyed getting lost and found inside the narrow winding streets, talking in Portuguese/English with the local children, eating icecream while watching a soap opera with an elderly woman at the local icecream shop, sharing an evening with Vanessa and Tito on the rooftop under the full moon, walking along the beach and swimming at Leblon and Ipanema, and riding up the hill on the moto-taxis at the end of each day. Comfortable bed, cooking area facilities, hot showers, a washing line inside the sun, on site action - what much more could you want. An amazing experience, obrigada.
