The building and design was full of character. The staff helpfull and friendly. a lot of comunal areas to relax and chat to other travellers. Basic breakfast but a lot of it. Were flexible on breakfast times so we could get out into the city early. Very clean.

Courtyard was nice and breakfast good. Also liked the fact that the location was quite empty; plenty of own peace and space beacause of that. Location also nice; short walk to Santa Teresa and Gloria.

An exceptional location to stay if you want a quieter, much more arty portion of town. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Cool character- lots of art books and art situated around hostel. Large private double room and &'walk in&' wardrobe and a very good bathroom. Outstanding bar. Jazz most Sundays. Located up steps -at the top of which are lots of art gallery/boutiques and little restaurants with live music at the weekends. Region has been described as Rio&'s equivalent to Montmatre. Recently reviewed as the location to stay in Rio&'s leading whats on magazine.

Quirky architecture, location and decor. Friendly individuals and properly laid-out furnishings. Loved the outdoor bar which is set with greenery, with benches and cushions to lounge and relax. Shower facilities were great! Everything was properly provided and catered for; breakfast served was filling and employees were friendly and considerate in case you needed to leave early, they prepared your breakfast in advance. Receptionist and employees were extremely friendly and helpful. The location was quite central and walking distance to supermarkets, metro and shops.
