It was an okay place to stay for one night with access to the city center and then the ferry terminal via taxi.

When I arrived 1stly couldnt believe what a dump the place was, then there was no one at reception and when I called the after hours number (even though it was about 4pm! ) the guy said he didn't have my booking, then he said he did remember my booking but had sold my booked bed so i had to change to a different room (even though I had the Hostelbookers booking number, etc) then he tried to charge me more than the advertised price. There were reno's (DIY's! ) the guy was doing in the front building where i assume the private rooms where located. Upsides: the location was quite good close to cbd and cinemas, the beds had thin mattresses but surprisingly comfortable and linen was clean, there was also a full size fridge in the room and aircon. Still, would not stay there again or recommend to anyone wanting more than a bed close to cbd for a night.

No longer runs the shuttle bus service which I found annoying but its only $1. 50 for the bus from the ferryboat which drops you off outside. Hostel seemed clean enough but seemed empty while I was there. Easy walk to the principal parts of Townsville

VERY DIRTY, Staff not friendly, not many individuals here, faraway from town

A really sad sad location the bathroom stincks and the whole location feels old and disgusting had to go out for as long as possible simply because staying in was grose i even gave up taking a shower at all just simply because it was unbarable
