Base on Magnetic Island is not just a hostel, it&'s a truely awesome experience, especially since it is situated directly at the beach. All of the huts and cabins are lovely and cozy, the only setback of the facilities would be that it can get quite warm inside the huts and cabins. Besides that it is a lovely place, the island offers a lot of items to do - I hiked along the coast to Horseshoebay and saw every single single bay, every single one of them is special and very laid back, you feel like you&'re jumping from one postcard into another. If you wanna party this is the location to be, but it&'s great to relax out and have an easy going time, too.

It is basic to reach on the island. There is a pool, though it was filthy on our first day and then closed for the other two, presumably for chemical treatment. Bummer. The tent we had was quite cheap. Nightly drink specials will appeal to each people who just need to have a beer and look out on the sea and people who need to party. The hostel itself is fine, but no more. Try to get a bed at the YHA instead, I have only heard good items about it.
